Hip hop has been a male-dominated genre for years. But that doesn't mean women don't have anything to offer when it comes to the art form—especially when it comes to production and songwriting. With these ladies, no matter who you are or what your gender is, there's something for everyone!

Sango

Sango is a producer and songwriter who has worked with some big names in hip hop, including Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J. Cole and Puff Daddy. She's from Chicago and has a solo career as well (her first album was called "The Intro"). At the moment she's working on her third album called "Paint Me A Picture."

Sango also runs an imprint label called Fade to Mind that releases music by other artists such as Sango herself or her friends like Shy Glizzy.

YUAN

Yuan is a producer and DJ from New York. She is a member of the duo DUCKWRTH, along with her husband, Jeremy Lertola. Her debut EP, “the end” was released in July 2018. As a solo artist she has been featured on numerous tracks including Kelela’s “Night Drive” as well as DJ Mustard's "All My Friends".

MNEK

MNEK is a British singer and songwriter. He was born in London, England, and has worked with artists like Madonna, Beyonce, Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue. MNEK's music has been featured in several major shows such as AHS: Hotel, Glee and the Oscar nominated film Moonlight.

TOKiMONSTA

TOKiMONSTA is a female beatmaker from Los Angeles, who has been making music since 2010. She's one of the most famous female beatmakers in the world and has worked with artists like Anderson .Paak and Mac Miller.

MI$$IL

• She's a producer and singer from Los Angeles.

• Best known for her work with artists like Anderson .Paak, Kid Cudi, and Kanye West.

Her debut album is called "The Free Fall."

9th Wonder

• 9th Wonder is a producer and DJ.

• She has worked with artists like Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, J. Cole, Jay-Z and Drake to name a few.

• She is also the founder of Jamla Records which was started in 2007.

Ryan Hemsworth

Ryan Hemsworth is a Canadian musician and producer from Toronto, Ontario. He has worked with artists like Flume, Frank Ocean, and Anderson.Paak on his Soulection label. She released the album “The High Life” which features guest appearances from A-Trak and Chance The Rapper among others

MYRNE

MYRNE is a producer and DJ from Toronto, Canada. She has worked with artists such as SZA, GoldLink, Travis Scott, KAYTRANADA and more. Her debut album is scheduled to be released in 2019.

Soulection (radio show)

Soulection is a radio show and record label based in Los Angeles, California. The label was founded by Joe Kay and co-founded by Denzel Curry in 2011. It has a wide range of music genres including hip hop, soul, house, jazz and funk.
